Console Talk...

Will driving beyond horizons ever be added to new gen consoles, this would really get the game out there and also give a bigger player base.

Hopefully one day we see this on console however I play pc version but I'm here for the console players to. Deff-man420 (talk) 02:56, 22 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Consoles will be explored closer to the end of early access but there's no definitive date at this time. Glad you're enjoying it on Steam! ChrisWA (talk) 08:59, 22 April 2025 (UTC)Reply

Website in other languages!

I'd like to gradually translate the website and all its subpages into German. How can I do this? Jetgamer (talk) 08:15, 17 May 2025 (UTC)Reply

Wiki contribution suggestions

The main page mentions "fixing spelling errors and broken links" but I think the weight of every item should be added to each item's page, and then into a item weight table page or something for easier sorting, etc.

Also, some tables on separate vehicle parts pages are not as complete as the table is in the main parts page. For example, engine has a table with less information than Engine Parts#Engines. I don't know if it's implementable in Wiki.gg MediaWiki but there is a way to include a page (or portion of) into another page (transclusion), preventing this issue of having to update multiple tables on different pages with the same information. I'm only getting back into editing a MediaWiki, after 5+ years absence, but this game is getting my wiki-editing juices flowing again. ;) Eep² (talk) 23:53, 1 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

I was able to transclude Engine Parts#Engines to engine but as soon as I tried transcluding Engine Parts#Radiators to radiator, the engine table also got transcluded. So, I transcluded the radiator table into Engine Parts#Radiators and that seems to work fine. In other words, transcluding tables from individual parts pages into a larger compilation page is more logical. Editors will just have to know what transclusion is and why, when they try to edit a part compilation page, for example, the text refers to another page (like the {{#breadcrumb}} parser hook extension transcluded on most pages here). This also includes "compilation" pages like weapons which has the AK-47 rifle and RPG, both of which need separate pages (instead of being redirected to weapons) and transclusion [<onlyinclude></onlyinclude> around the intro description and image(s) (single and/or gallery)] onto the compilation page. Other compilation non-vehicle-part pages that need transclusion include: alcohol, accessories, clothing, food, liquids, and even teddy bears since each variation is a separate item. Now, points of interest, for example, doesn't need transclusion since it's basically just a gallery of images and links to separate pages already. -Eep² (talk) 05:44, 16 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

got a question for the existing wiki editors.

Howdy, ima be... just a tad blunt about what i want to say:

yall need to write down the "basic knowledge" of some things.

i know darn well im coming off as a tad abrasive, and dont take it as anything but constructive criticism, but the fact that something as simple as an explanation on how the towing system works, not having a page... that needs to be rectified i think

with that said, i'd like to help, ive got prior experience in wiki work, most recently on this site, im not that good at source editing, or that good at grammar (as if that wasnt beyond obvious) but i know how to collect data, how to mostly condense it down without rambling a lot. however my writing style is far from easy to read.

im not sure how any of the things i want to add will fit into the existing wiki, structure is important to a wiki and im not about to mess with the tree that is this wiki without a heads up to the folks already working on it. I want a bit of guidance, so feel free to hit me up on discord (my discord user is the same as my wgg account) Djay4487 (talk) 00:48, 9 June 2025 (UTC)Reply

This wiki is only a few months ~8 months old, and the game is still in Steam Early Access, so both are still in-progress and under construction. Road train explains some towing concepts but it should probably just be a section in towing so, for now, I'll redirect it to towing and include some info from the Steam discussions (particularly this post). Feel free to add your info and experiences, and other wiki editors, can clean up the formatting, spelling, etc. That's what a wiki is all about. ;) -Eep² (talk)

URL redirect

I asked Wiki.gg support of they could create a URL redirect, and they did! So, to make typing out links easier, http://dbh.wiki.gg will redirect to http://drivebeyondhorizons.wiki.gg! This, of course, works in web browsers, web forums, and anywhere else URLs are used. 😁 - Eep² (talk) 15:18, 26 June 2025 (UTC)Reply
